Today, Dustin Zvonek, candidate for Aurora City Council At-Large, announced that his campaign has raised over $143,000 since launching his candidacy in February and has over $125,000 remaining for the final 90 days. Zvonek, a first-time candidate for public office, is a small business owner, a former congressional and legislative aide, and a current member of the Aurora Citizens Advisory Budget Committee.
“I continue to be humble by the outpouring of support for my campaign. Over the past three months as I’ve been going door-to-door listening to voters, it’s clear they are deeply concerned about Aurora’s future and are ready for change”, said Zvonek
“With just over 90 days until Election Day, my campaign is gaining momentum each-and-every day and is in position to finish strong. I believe we have an opportunity this November to elect a new generation of leadership, leadership that will make Aurora safer, more open for business, and focused on making a difference for all who call Aurora home”, concluded Zvonek.
As a result of the new campaign finance ordinance passed by the City Council last year, individual contributions to city council candidates are now limited to $1,000 for at-large candidates, whereas previously there were no contribution limits. Candidates are also now required to disclose their fundraising totals and campaign expenses earlier and more frequently than in prior years. Zvonek will go into the final 90 Days having more cash available than any candidate for Council raised during the 2019 cycle.
